Evans Blue: Evan Blue

The Canadian band Evans Blue a few years ago needed a new singer and so they hired Dan Chandler who in my opinion has a great voice. It is similar to the original singer but still distinct in its own right. I didn’t know of the group until the self-titled album Evans Blue and the first song I heard by them was Sick of It. I was immediately in love. I bought the album on iTunes and I can honestly say that it was worth it and I got what I paid for.

Significant Other Appreciation

So it hit me that my boyfriend is amazing. Like really truly amazing and since it’s our anniversary this month, I wanted to do something special. I wanted him to know that I appreciate him and that’s when I realized that when anyone has that special someone who’s wonderful, don’t they want that person to know they’re appreciated? So thus here this is: a post all about appreciating one’s significant other.

The thing that’s wonderful about my boyfriend is how much he loves me. It’s the kind of love that isn’t blind to one’s faults; it’s the kind of love that is there despite those faults. What I mean is, some people really don’t like talkative people and they’re blind to that fault because it’s all sunshine and daisies or that person is different when it’s just the two of them. The love I’m talking about is the type of love that recognizes that fault and doesn’t care about it, or that fault makes them love you even more because they don’t want perfect, they want you. That kind of love is all encompassing and it’s beautiful and wonderful. I appreciate my boyfriend not only because of how much he loves me, but because he loves my faults since they’re a part of who I am.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Welcome to the Hellmouth

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is by Joss Whedon and probably the most successful and famous of all the shows by Whedon. The show is about a single female with the power to fight evil who does so with the help of her loyal friends. The show is still as relevant as now as it was back when it first was in syndication. The show isn’t just about a girl fighting against evil but high school and relationships with a supernatural twist. The show is relatable in that the protagonist isn’t all that good at school and has relationship troubles. It’s the same with the other characters which is part of what makes them beloved.

I had once promised myself that I wouldn’t do this book, that I wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole considering how defensive the fans are and how hateful those that hate the novels are. Here I am though doing a review/opinion piece on the book. Why am I doing it now? Because it’s a challenge, because while I didn’t want to deal with the possible backlash, it’s something a part of me has been wanting to do. So, to start I don’t like the book. I’ve done my research and I’ve read it enough times to explain what I don’t like about it.

Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies is a movie that cannot be defined by one genre. It’s a horror movie because there are zombies, but it’s also a comedy and a romance with some action thrown in. Overall I found it was a good movie if you looked past the fact that a living person falls in love with a decaying zombie. I did enjoy it when I watched it especially because it was a comedy.
